BUCKET EVOLUTION
The Grit Guard brought massive change to the standard wash process and car wash bucket. It sits at the bottom of your standard 5 Gal bucket and acts as a screen or filter and keeps dirt from your car and wash pad at the bottom of the bucket. This keeps your wash pad cleaner and reduces the chance of cross contamination and reintroducing dirt from the bucket back onto the car. A very small piece of plastic in your bucket truly does make a big difference in your wash process moving forward.
Why We Use It
We use the Grit Guard simply because we will use any and every measure we can to reduce swirl marks and preserve the perfect finish we spent days creating during a Status Detail. We use Grit Guards in our wash, rinse and wheel buckets. This is an essential tool for your wash setup and I even have a wash bucket setup with two Grit Guards in it for when we clean the occasionally extremely dirty car. If you don't have at least one of these.... You need to fix that today! Your car will thank you.
LONGEVITY
Your Grit Guard will last basically forever. I can't see how you could break it or need a new one. It needs a little cleaning now and then because it spends most of it's life sitting in dirt. Because the value is so good, I recommend at least having two for wash and rinse buckets and of course three is the way to go if the budget allows for it.

The Grit Guard Inserts fit in the bottom of your wash bucket and separates the grit from the mitt! The inserts radial surface design extracts particles such as dirt, grit and grime from your wash mitt, providing a clean, scratch-free wash mitt every time you go back to the bucket for water. All of the potentially harmful dirt settle in the bottom of the bucket, keeping it our of your mitt and off of your paint. This simple and cost effective method protects your precious painted surfaces from being scratched and saves your paint from swirl marks and scratches.
Grit Guard is not a gimmick, it's common sense...when your mitt is in the water, the fibers are fluffed up. When you rub your mitt against Grit Guard in the water, the fluffed up fibers allow the Grit Guard to extract the dirt, grit and grime. Once dirt settles in the bottom of the bucket, the Grit Guard keeps it there by separating the wash water into four quadrants, so the water cannot be disturbed. Also works amazingly well on tile grouting! Fits most 3.5 gallon, 4 gallon, 5 gallon and 6 gallon buckets.
