A ceramic coating by itself is a major leap forward in paint protection. Ceramic coatings bond to the paint for years and have many great traits, but when you put a product like EXO V4 over a ceramic coating it becomes something truly incredible. EXO V4 is designed from the ground up on a chemical level to bond to Crystal Serum Light. The result is the most unbelievable gloss and hydrophobic qualities possible on a painted surface. 7 YEARS OF PERFECTION

Crystal Serum Light by itself can deliver 3-5 years of durability. The 2 year variation is for how well you care for it and how much use the car will see. EXO V4 has a durability of 2 years. When you stack the 2 and care for it properly you can see a maximum of 7 years of durability! You can put EXO on as a stand alone ceramic coating and get two years durability but it is not recommended.

EASY TO APPLY

Ceramic coatings can be difficult to install. In fact, most DIY car enthusiasts avoid trying ceramic installs because the word of mouth is that it's difficult or someone they know had a horrible experience installing it on their pride and joy. EXO V4 is basically as easy as applying a traditional wax! You apply it with a Gyeon block and suede applicator. Pour a line of EXO onto the applicator and then work it in like a wax. You can use a cross hatch pattern too. Work panel by panel. Do not try to apply EXO to the entire car and then remove it from the entire car. Install in sections; the hood, then the door etc. Once you apply EXO you can wipe it back off with a clean microfiber. Use one towel for the first wipe off and a second towel for the final wipe. If you do a fender, always wipe past the fender and onto the door and hood to ensure you're not leaving residue. That's how you get high spots. EXO is is kind of a greasy looking product with a long work time. You have a lot of time to clean up high spots before they cure and become a problem. Basically like left over wax that you can clean up 20 minutes later. You don't want to find that kind of residue a few hours or days later, that's when you run into high spots and would potentially need a detailer to help you fix it. It is easy to avoid as long as you double and triple check your work before walking away after the install. 

WHAT SIZE TO BUY

9 out of 10 times I recommend you get the 50ml bottle. You can put CSL on paint, trim, glass, wheels and door jams. You can knock out two cars with 50ml but on a full size car 30ml gets you thinking "will I have enough?". If you go with the 30ml bottle you could coat something small like a BMW M2 for example. It's best to have extra on hand if you need to touch something up or you get a fender bender and need to re-coat after the body shop does it's work.

MAINTENANCE 

To get great durability is very simple. Use a great soap like Reset or Bathe with a quality wash pad like the one in our store here. Use a foam cannon as often as possible and dry with an electric leaf blower or high quality drying towels. Blow drying is safest and fastest. Last but not least, we recommend you use cure or reload as your ceramic sealant. These products are designed to bond to your ceramic coating and essentially hydrate it and rejuvenate it. Use them once every few months or monthly if you're really into spending time with your car and miss the waxing days. You can also re-apply EXO annually or every 2-3 years over CSL as a maintenance product.

DURABILTY 

If you put this on your pride and joy that you drive on weekends, expect a minimum of 7 years durability when applied on top of Crystal Serum Light. Expect up to 7 Years durability on cars driven often but are not seeing heavy use. Cars that see heavy use and are daily driven especially in winter/on salty roads will see up to 5 years durability. Durability can vary drastically depending on how well you install a coating and how long it cures for and what climate it cures in. The above durability is listed as if it were installed in perfect conditions and cured in perfect conditions.

THIS SEEMS EXPENSIVE

When you're looking at a $100 product like CSL or a $95 product like EXO V4 or maybe you're looking at doing both it is hard to call that good value. But you need to look past the face value numbers, especially if you're used to buying ceramic sealant like Gyeon Cure for $35. A professional Ceramic Coating installation is well over $1000 and a & year coating will often run close to $2000. So, even if your install is not perfect in your garage you're getting real ceramic for a fraction of the price and getting tremendous value! Don't get me started on the "real ceramic coatings" advertised often on social media from no name companies. Gtechniq is used by professionals around the world and we have personally put it on cars that cost more than most people's homes! RECOMMENDED INSTALL

 - Wash your car with a premium soap like Bathe or Reset.

- Clay bar the paint if it feels rough after the paint is clean from the wash

- If paint is still rough or has small rust spots use CarPro Iron X \ This step should be used almost no matter what but can be skipped if on a budget.

- Paint correction or a light polish with a DA polisher is recommended.  If you have swirl marks and want them fixed, this is the time to do so as the ceramic will lock the swirls in. If you have what you think is perfect paint, I would recommend a light, fast polish of the entire car with an orange pad from lake country and a light polish. This will make your ceramic bond stronger and increase durability. 

- If the car is polished or not polished the next step is to use Gyeon prep or Carpro eraser to prep the paint. This removes any left over polish oils and even if you didn't polish it will still remove all dirt and left over residues from the paint. This is like a surgeon washing his or her hands before surgery. This step is CRUCIAL to a proper install and good durability.

- Now we can lay ceramic down! Wrap your Gyeon Suede Applicator around your Gyeon Foam Block and put 5-6 drops of ceramic onto the Suede applicator. I basically do one full line across the pad. Rub the Ceramic into the paint in a cross hatch method. Do the hood in 2-4 sections for example. I usually split a hood down the middle and a door in two sections too. Don't rush!

- Use a clean microfiber towel and wipe the ceramic off the panel. You will have to wait anywhere from 20 seconds to a minute or two. You want to see the product almost start to bead or sweat. This is the best time to wipe off. If you're nervous and on your first install, I recommend you apply it and wipe off after 20-ish seconds. Your durability will be worse but you will lower your chances for mistakes and high spots a lot! As you do more installs you will see how the product works and be more comfortable pushing the limits of the initial cure time. 

-Once Crystal Serum is on you should wait at least 24 hours to drive the car, especially in rain! The ceramic will cure for 6 days after the initial 24 hours. During the six days you can drive the car but should not wash it unless it gets covered in bird droppings or salt or something that would be considered heavy dirt.

-If you're putting EXO V4 on, wait 1-2 hours after CSL was installed, then put EXO on in the same way you did CSL. EXO is much more easy to work with and forgiving. It will require 2-3 wipes to remove so have lots of towels ready! When you apply EXO you wait roughly one minute and then remove it. If you do a full hood by the time you apply it and wipe from where you started to remove you will be good to go. You basically remove it almost right after you put it on if you work in a uniform fashion.
